WellsGray Recruitment is pleased to welcome Adrian Roberts to the team as our new General Manager, supporting both the WellsGray Recruitment and BWS Recruitment brands as the business continues to evolve and strengthen its service to clients.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the recruitment industry, Adrian brings unique expertise across executive search, permanent and temporary/contract recruitment. Having Adrian join our team marks an important step forward for both brands as we look to build on our foundations and strengthen the way we support our clients across Australia.

We sat down with Adrian to get his story. We hope you enjoy this introduction to our newest team member.

Why our brands?

For Adrian, the decision to join the business was shaped by his recognition of its reputation and long-standing commitment to values-led recruitment, particularly within the small to medium enterprise space.

Having built a long career in recruitment, he was drawn to the organisation’s heritage and the quality of relationships it has developed with clients over time. The General Manager role allows him to bring together leadership experience and practical recruitment knowledge while contributing to the next phase of growth.

A leadership approach grounded in listening

Throughout his career, Adrian has worked with a wide range of leaders and teams. One principle has consistently shaped his approach: the importance of listening.

He believes strong outcomes are achieved through understanding different perspectives, creating alignment around shared goals and maintaining the flexibility to adapt when conditions change. This balance between clear strategy and responsiveness is central to his leadership style.

Adrian’s early focus on clients and people

In his first months, Adrian’s priority is to build a deep understanding of the business, the clients WellsGray has partnered with over many years, and the people behind the brand.

Understanding what clients need now, and how WellsGray can continue to support them in a changing market, will be a key focus. Adrian also recognises the role the team plays in delivering consistent, high-quality outcomes for clients.

Looking ahead

Adrian describes his leadership style as collaborative, adaptable and people-focused. He values open communication, trust and balancing data-led decision-making with human, intuitive insight.

What he says excites him most about the opportunity is the chance to build something meaningful over time, alongside a team with strong industry knowledge and shared values.
